4 Reasons Why Reunion Groups Exist

Reunion Group

There are four reasons why reunion groups exist.  First, they provide a place to share the joys and sorrows of life.  The more genuine and the deeper that life together becomes, the more everything else recedes, as God becomes the center of our lives.

Second, they serve to foster and expand the work of love as the basic ideal.  When love, commitment and inspiration grow and is established over time the group becomes God’s masterpiece, fashioned for service outside of the group.  They are able to give away God as He has filled each individually and bound them together in Him, which leads to the next reason for reunion groups.

Third, the reunion groups exist to be rooted in love, individual ingenuity, creativity and initiative, to provide endless opportunities for apostolic experiences.  Each group’s purpose after learning with one another, is to do good to the bodies and souls of all people wherever and whenever possible.

Finally, reunion groups exist to encourage members to attend to the means of grace through piety, study and action and to support one another in that goal.  In reunion groups the members help each other stay in healthy step with God’s robust grace, constantly spurring each other along, as they venture forth with God and each other.

The reunion group is a small accountability group of two to 12 persons who have usually participated in the three-day renewal Weekend experience and who want to continue their pursuit of a life lived wholly in the grace of God.  With the regular support of faithful friends and God’s love reunion groups become a lifestyle of Christian discipleship through the threefold discipline of piety, study, and action. Group reunions meet at regular times, usually weekly for an hour.  The meeting consists of people sharing their hearts, lives and relationship with Jesus and one another.

Let us know what your reunion group is like?  Does it exist for these four reasons?
